I want to thank Jim Thomas for taking on this project of indexing the 1876 Scotland County plat map. Without his help, the indexing would never have gotten off the ground. He created templates for the transcribers to use and then put all the information together in the form of a web formatted index which I could upload easily to the Scotland County GenWeb pages.

The transcribers took Jim's templates and poured over the maps, listing each owner and their acreages on the templates. It was painstaking work. We divided up the maps and had several volunteers scattered all over the country who did the work for Jim. Here are the folks who helped.
